I have never been one to watch the news or read beyond the front page of the newspaper. I make no judgment on those who do and hope no one would consider me less educated for my choice to decline on all the current facts, but I don’t find that being informed widens my view of the world or offers me any advantage in my daily life.
I avoid all the “bad news” because I find it to be a downer, an energy drainer. So when I saw the frenzy surrounding the Swine Flu I wasn’t alarmed. Last week when I heard it had reached the D.R. I didn’t worry too much, but used it as another excuse to teach hand washing in my house. When I noticed the medical masks on the pedestrians in the city, I wondered if that was really necessary.
Then yesterday I received a call that it had reached our children’s school, two confirmed cases–Classes are canceled we should pick up our kids, graduations are canceled and offices will be closed until further notice. Hmmm…Still not worried. Our lives are carefully entrusted to a Very Big God!

That’s right Joy! HE is our God and is GREATER than all CIRCUMSTANCES!

Hi Joy, I agree with you. There seems to be a real frenzy over this Swine flu. People are swamping the ER’s.People are just panicking over the slightest symptoms, they are so fearful. I guess they don’t have a loving Father to take care of them, or a Divine physician who makes house calls. Sad.
