Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.

Iglesia El Camino Community Center, La Vega, Dominican Republic

In 2005 the church decides to provide the great need of drinking water that the people from María Auxiliadora were facing. Thanks to Partners In Deed from Varsity Bible Church (Canada) we had the opportunity to supply purified water to this community. Since they provided the equipment needed to treat the water and sell a 5-galon bottle for 10 pesos.

At first AGUAS DE UNIDAD INTERNACIONAL owned the water system… Late 2007 AGUAS DE UNIDAD give the church an opportunity to continue on their own or under it, the truth is we wanted to work independently.

After the project was under The El Camino church, we have faced some major challenges such as fixing of water pumps, construction of a cistern, buying new filters…
This became a huge concern because AGUAS DE UNIDAD generally used to provide for all the maintenance needs and when we decided to be independent we started to face all these problems with no money.
We were broke and again once again Partners In Deed, from Varsity Bible Church lent us the amount of money which helped us to keep on with the service of purified water in the barrio, we were closed for 2 weeks, offering no service and we organized a new way of doing things.

May 30 2009 (today) all everything is going smoothly, we are selling the 5-gallon bottle for15 pesos, we added more hours of daily work, the team is bigger and the church is starting to to see the system as a tool for evangelism.
