Ten Days in the States

I flew with the kids to the states on June 5th to take a professional exam that would allow me to reinstate my teaching license and also to leave the kids with my mom for the summer. The kids haven’t been to the states since Elijah was born more than two years ago and with our very busy summer schedule it seemed like the right time. It is so nice to be back with family and in our church. My friend described the experience of going home as a healing balm, that truly captures what a few days home can do for my spirit. I am hoping that my kids can soak up a ton of love, encouragement and guidance.

During my time home my dad and sisters drove up for an unexpected visit. It had been more than three years since we had seen them. I have two pictures of me with both of my parents. The first one was taken on my wedding day and I am grateful for a new one.

I will receive the results of my test midmonth. I just don’t know how it went, but I had a lot of prayer so I hope it turns out. I am missing the kids terrible and wondering if six weeks is just too long, but they are having a fabulous time so I suppose they are big enough now. My mother-in-law with fly back to the DR with them, it will be her first visit. We are SO excited! As she knows the language I think she will really enjoy it and I know Vidal won’t stop smiling the entire time she is here.
