Hello friends and family,
An update is long overdue and we apologize. We have had a great year in terms of family and work and as our circle of friends in the Dominican Republic grows we feel more and more at home here. This is the first Holiday newsletter in more than ten years that as I sit down to write I don’t feel flooded by memories of drama and significant change.We have had a quiet year of growth, maintainingand nurturing things already planted. We were so excited to be able to take a few of our girls to the young life camp in Jarabacoa this weekend. We had a small group of ten girls for a “grow”camp, a time to grow and reflect on their relationship with God. (more…)

At the beginning of November, we had the pleasure of working with a medical team from Puerto Rico. This was their 3rd trip since I’ve been working with T.E.A.R.S., and they are one of my favorite groups to work with.The doctors and assistants have HUGE hearts and work hard to bless different local communities with medical care and (more…)

Last Saturday, the 21st of November, we had a soccer tournament amongst the kids on our team.  These are the same children and teens that attend to receive soccer training and to hear about Jesus. (more…)

 I’m going to write about what is happening with the youth of the barrio María Auxiliadora.

Lately we’ve had some very busy days with the youth, from the small group activity that we have been doing with the youth every Saturday, to traditional Dominican holiday ginger tea parties in people’s homes.

I ask for your prayers, as we have been working full-time with the youth of the barrio María Auxiliadora and we have had some very special experiences with them.  For example, we held a pajama party in the house with about 20 teens which was really cool, especially since it was an activity held outside the church.  This month we have been working closer with them and I think it has been really good.

En estos días, hemos tenido días muy activo con los jóvenes, desde la actividad que hemos hecho con los jóvenes cada sábado, la célula juvenil en mi casa, hasta jengibres en las calles.
Pido sus oraciones, hemos estado trabajando tiempo completo con los jóvenes en el Barrio María auxiliadora y hemos (more…)
